With construction at Miller’s Quay approaching its final stages, five hundred highly sustainable one- and two-bedroom waterfront apartments, including 100 affordable new homes, will soon hit the market.
Apartments are expected to be released in two phases, with phase one, the first 150 new homes, due to open in the summer of 2024. Phase two, the final 350 new homes, will be ready in early 2025.
This transformational residential scheme is delivering high levels of sustainability and innovation as well as significant social impact, with 100 affordable new homes included and a wide range of unique learning and employment opportunities for the local community and students at neighbouring Wirral Met College.
Wirral Waters’ developer, Peel Waters, and its funding partner, Pension Insurance Corporation plc (“PIC”), along with construction firm GRAHAM, Homes England, and Wirral Council have all been instrumental in the delivery of Miller’s Quay, which is the single biggest development to date at Wirral Waters.
Wirral Waters is part of Peel Waters, a UK wide portfolio of vibrant and innovative, waterfront developments, delivering large-scale, sustainable regeneration projects, creating jobs, economic growth, new homes and new public realm across the country.
Richard Mawdsley, Director of Development at Wirral Waters, said: “Our appointment of JLL follows a competitive procurement process where they were found to have the expertise, experience and resources to deliver this critical, large-scale development. In addition, JLL’s commitment to sustainability, climate action and shaping healthy and inclusive places for thriving communities are very much aligned with our own values and our ambition for Wirral Waters – so we are delighted to bring them on board at Miller’s Quay.”
John Coddington, Head of Residential – Property & Asset Management at JLL added, “Miller’s Quay is an outstanding development, showcasing a dedicated effort to harness the area’s potential and promote sustainable living. It highlights Peel’s commitment to supporting local communities and creating environmentally-conscious spaces. We are thrilled to be part of this journey at Wirral Waters, where we look forward to building a inclusive, sustainable and thriving community together.”
Leader of Wirral Council, Cllr Paul Stuart, said: “It is fantastic to see how Miller’s Quay has progressed. This is a landmark development and shows the council’s brownfield-first strategy is delivering new homes while also supporting our broader regeneration aims across the Left Bank of the borough.”
