Reasons for the shortlisting included Hythe’s sustainability, social impact, impact on a regeneration area and commercial success.
Located on a brownfield, waterside site within the Four Bridges neighbourhood of Wirral Waters, Hythe sets high standards in sustainability with its BREEAM-Excellent rating, placing it in the top 10% of all buildings for its green credentials.
Hythe is already boosting jobs in the area and acting as a catalyst for economic growth, with three lettings already taken place. Businesses now located in Hythe include an innovative net zero modular housing provider, Starship Group, a national professional services firm with a base on Merseyside that is expanding its workforce, and a national construction technologies organisation also expanding its workforce.
Hythe has been funded by Peel L&P, the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority, through the Local Growth Fund, and the Merseyside Pension Fund, managed by CBRE’s Investment Advisory team, part of CBRE Capital Advisors. Local Growth Funding is awarded to the Liverpool City Region Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) and invested through the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority’s Strategic Investment Fund.
Wirral Council has also played a pivotal role to support Peel L&P’s team in delivering the project, emphasising the importance of collaborative working to ensure that the vision for Wirral Waters is delivered.
