Woodside Business Park, at Wirral Waters, will be the operational HQ for this year’s Wirral shoebox appeal run by local charity, Teams4U.
Peel Land and Property is, once again, providing the use of its premises to the Wirral shoebox team in order to help disadvantaged children from across Eastern Europe at Christmas time.
Teams4U was set up in 2006 by Dave Cooke, from Wrexham. In 1990, Dave founded the shoebox gift concept when he provided aid to Romanian orphanages.
Through its annual appeal, Teams4U collects and distributes gift-filled Christmas shoeboxes across Eastern Europe and, last year, distributed over 38,000 shoeboxes to Belarus, Bosnia, Ukraine and Romania. The Teams4U charity works with local people in these countries all year round to help improve the quality of their lives.
Dave Cooke, founder of Teams4U, said: “We’re delighted that Peel has provided their warehouse for our Christmas shoebox appeal this year. It will mean we are able to process a large number of shoeboxes in time for Christmas. Please drop your shoeboxes into Woodside Business Park or even stick around and help us out with this wonderful appeal.”
Nicola Dearden, Property Manager for Peel L&P, said: “The Wirral shoebox team does a fantastic job and helps so many children at Christmas time so we’re delighted to be able to support them this year.”
To drop off a shoebox or get involved in processing the gift-filled shoeboxes, please go along to Unit 76 on the Woodside Business Park any weekday, between 10am and 3pm, until Friday 30th November.
Woodside Business Park has excellent transport links and is within 300 metres of Hamilton Square train station and just 100 metres of Woodside Ferry Terminal. Woodside Business Park also benefits from easy access to the M53 motorway and A41.
